East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, Tennessee, U.S., recently joined IASSW. As a faculty member, I am honored to be assisting our department in adding both Indigenous and international components to our curriculum. Currently, I am in the process of revising MSW course titled Social Work Foundations II which focuses on working with communities and organizations; and Practice with Communities and Organizations course for the BSW program at ETSU. I envision adding a component that will link students in the East Tennessee Region with a peer social work student from another part of the world. I would like to do this as a modern day “pen-pal” assignment via email or Facebook. The course takes place in both the Fall and Spring semesters. If you are interested in collaborating and implementing this in one of your courses please email me at thibeault@etsu.edu. I am hoping to begin this for the upcoming Fall semester.
Thank you.
