Topic: Global impact of COVID-19 on women and young girls

We are seeking articles, research projects, short stories, evidence, documents and reports exploring the social and economic impact of COVID-19 on women and girls.
As the pandemic continues to spread across the world evidence is emerging that women are experiencing increase incidents of sexual and physical violence, mental- ill health, social isolation, loss opportunities in education and economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is despite the valuable role women are playing in front line health and welfare work, in supporting families and communities, and in leading the response . So, we ask what is at stake in your country, region and community? How is social work responding to the gender-based impact of the pandemic? What are educators, practitioners and students doing to advocate for women and young girls? What measures are being taken to protect women and young girls from current and future harm?
We are looking for articles and snapshots of stories, short reports, testimonies, personal narratives of educators, students, practitioners in social work on issues of the gender-based impact of current pandemic.
We invite everyone to write a:
- Article of 2000 words (including references)
- A short report or story of 100 to 200 words on this topic, and it is recommended that you include links to media reports, research surveys and other documentation that would be useful to the worldwide community of educators in social work. Please include photos as well.
