National Conference on Climate Change
Dr. Barbara Shank, Secretary of the IASSW, was honored to formally inaugurate the programme of the Second National Conference on Climate Change organized by the Post Graduate Department of Social Work at Sree Sabareese College, India. The conference aims to integrate all stakeholders – academics, activists, students, researchers, policy makers, community members and planners – at the national level to think about and reflect on the adverse effects of climate change.
Sree Sabareese College is a member of IASSW. IASSW adheres to all United Nations Declarations and Conventions on human rights, recognizing that respect for the inalienable rights of the individual is the cornerstone of freedom, peace and justice. In solidarity, members of IASSW are united to continue the pursuit of social justice and social development. Through our work, IASSW fosters cooperation, collegiality, networking, solidarity, and interdependence among its members and with others.
The National Conference on Climate Change is being held virtually on March 20th and 21th, 2021. We applaud Sree Sabareese Post Graduate Department of Social Work for addressing this critical issue and the impact of environmental degradation on the well-being of our communities.
