Message from Heads of Schools of Social Work in Israel
We are watching and hearing about the chaotic situation in which the whole community of Ukraine is facing. From our experience here in Israel, unfortunately also as a result of security escalations, we understand that a considerable part of the people’s ability to withstand such a complex situation is in fact their resilience and ability to function in times of emergency.
About 10 years ago, a simple and effective model was developed in Israel by Dr. Moshe Farchi for providing psychological first aid in situations of stress and emergency. The model, named” The SIX Cs Model” aimed to provide simple and affective guidelines for shifting the person from the sense of helplessness into effective function in a very short period of time.
The model has been recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Health as a national model for psychological first aid and we will be more than happy to share this knowledge with you.
