International Seminar on Social Welfare in Asia and the Pacific Rim 2023
The Role and Future of Social Welfare Practitioners during a Global Crisis-
COVID-19, war, and the economic instability that followed threatened the lives of people living in countries around the world, shaking the very foundations that allowed people to live their lives. What can social welfare, especially social work, do to support people’s lives in this uncertain era of crisis?
Focusing on child welfare and rights protection in particular, we will share the efforts and challenges of each country and consider the future social work and social welfare in the area of children and families in Asia.
The COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, as well as the economic instability that follows these are threatening the lives of people and shaking the foundations of their livelihoods in all countries around the world.This seminar examines what social welfare and social work in particular can do to support the lives of people in this complicated era of crisis.
With a focus on child welfare and rights advocacy specifically, the seminar aims to share about recent measures and challenges in each participating country and to consider the future of Asian social work in the field of child and family welfare.
