Testimonial from Individual Member of IASSW and Guest Editor of Social Dialogue Magazine (upcoming volume)
I am grateful to IASSW and the Publication Committee for giving me this opportunity as guest editor for the upcoming volume of Social Dialogue magazine.
I have been working on an international project funded by IASSW since 2022. Being the Indian partner for the IASSW project titled “Guidelines on “Social Work Practice Education & Internationalization: A Critical Review” (IP22-04) makes me happy to express that we are concluding this project in June 2023 and holding a webinar on May 19 at Toyo University, Japan. My other partners in this project are Natsuko Minamino, Toyo University, Japan; Ingvild Huse, VID Specialized University, Oslo, Norway; and Norby Paul, The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, Kenya.
One of my articles, titled ‘Kindness Prevails’: A View on the Efforts of Social Work Educational Institutions in South India during the COVID-19 Pandemic”, was published in the Social Dialogue #25, December 2021 – a special edition of the magazine focusing on social work education during COVID-19. The Co-authors of this article are Fr. Shinto Joseph, PhD, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Kerala, India and Alan Godfrey. A, PhD, Head and Assistant Professor, School of Social Work, St. Joseph University, Bangalore, India.
The IASSW membership has given me many chances, and I encourage many more members to join IASSW to strengthen our profession.
